Maybe some were emailed because they couldn’t send all the decisions via postal on time, so they opted to send some via email early?

@International95 is totally right. So far Reed has not violated any of their official announcements and they are hardly the only school that sends in waves. Just be patient guys.
I’m thinking that the Friday emails are Reed’s version of early writes. But since they weren’t particularly early (3/27), they freaked us all out.
I got my acceptance on Friday and I got a call from a student saying that Reed would fly me out to visit-- but I had to let them know by the 3rd of April. Maybe they admitted such students first? I hope this helps and sincerely wish you all the best in your searches. 
@gingko thank you and congratulations on getting admitted to Reed! If fate would have it some of us here will be your classmates in a few months. Do you mind posting your stats so we can take a look, just for curiosity’s sake?
I also got the same call as gingko, maybe more people admitted on friday got this call? Hope to see you guys when visiting! Has anyone admitted on friday received their admission packet in the mail yet?

I almost died laughing when someone mentioned Sone and Tell me your wish a few pages before, like, hell, this topic is taking too many turns thanks to Reed’s riddiculous way of announcing.
Well, a friend of mine got the Friday email last week but she hasn’t received any decisions yet, so I guess Reed is not that obvious about who got in and who didn’t. Nothing means acceptance or rejection for now, except those actual decision emails. Be patient for 1 more day and keep your hopes up!

My son found out by e-mail Friday - no call, no snail mail

That could mean today or tomorrow.
Though, they said “you should receive it by the postal service by april 1!” so I’m guessing it’s today.
They just replied to my email asking about decisions being posted: “Reed College received a record number of applications this year, and the admission committee’s task has been challenging. Decisions are still being processed and will be communicated by April 1, as published in our application instructions, by email and post.” So, there s still hope!
I got a call yesterday around 7 Central time. She also told me that if I hadn’t got my packet in the mail yet, I should be getting it soon since I am in Florida. So, I’m guessing everyone that heard on Friday has already had their admissions packet sent, so maybe everyone else waiting has their decision in the mail already. I received an email informing me of my acceptance last Friday and I just received a HEAVY (2 lb) package containing the Iliad, my decisions papers, and some glitter.
