@Frogf1sh, I’m sure you’ve been accepted elsewhere, right??? There’s always another path to take. If I could give you my acceptance, i would. I’ve wanted to major in cognitive science, and Reed doesn’t offer that. It’s been cool talking to you. You brought this thread to life
How many wait list applicants do they usually admit?
@Frogf1sh I’m sure you’ll do well wherever you end up. You’ve already left an impression on me.
@Curlyllama Last year they admitted roughly 16% of those accepting a place on the waitlist.
@Curlyllama, last year, out of 285 students that accepted a place on the waitlist, 45 were admitted. (From the common data set)
Rejected.
Wait listed.
Waitlisted! I knew how I would react to acceptance or rejection but waitlisted? I’ll accept a spot but otherwise it’s either UH Manoa or UPortland. I don’t even know how financial aid would work with waitlisted applicants. To add insult to a moderate slap to the face, I reread my Why Reed essay and almost cried at lunch. I’m a big baby. Sorry to all rejected applicants! College acceptance is neither defining nor does it measure worth. You’ll be fine you’re all golden.
can you see your status online anyone - I am away from home right now
I’d be cautious about accepting a place on the waitlist if you require financial aid. They tend to select full-pay students.
@rubys1996 Good luck with your future endeavors.
It doesn’t hurt to try though, I accepted my spot and I’ll need financial aid for sure. But you never know what may happen.
@seattlegurlie You’re certainly right, but there have been years (2009, for example) where every applicant accepted off the waiting list was full-pay. Just don’t get your hopes up.
Yeah don’t worry I will be keeping my hopes in check haha. The important thing is that everyone will be wonderful wherever they end up!
seriously people this is killing me - are decisions available online yet - I have nothing
@seattlegurlie Indeed and good luck to you!
You and me both @armarni!
@armarni Perhaps you’re one of the lucky few.
Still have not heard anything. No news is good news?
Getting waitlisted in Reed actaully makes me happy. I can now make my final decision to go to St. Olaf College, where I really like, instead of comparing one college to another.
@robthehero12 same but I’m not so sure about the good news
