i called and the admissions staff said mail only and thats all i know! and theyre not sure when theyre sending them out, they said around april 1
but i mean the people who applied ED got an email??
Maybe someone stole the big box of decisions and they are having to reevaluate us.
Will they also send international applicants decisions through mail???
… Well it seems I’ll get mine by June or July lol
@Maxwell1491 - Same here. There’s no way snail mail will get to me in time
Once decisions are made, won’t the info be available through the Reed admissions portal?
This doesn’t really make any sense to me… The whole “letter only” thing, that is. It is 100x easier for them and for everyone else to make the decisions available online or through email.
Some think it is more personal / professional to inform through letters.
It almost sounds like there is a problem with sending out notification electronically. Maybe they are having some computer issue. At any rate, last year letters were mailed via fedex (which I imagine was pretty expensive) so perhaps those of you who are far away will receive notification quicker than regular mail.
do any of you know if they give good financial aid?
did you run the net price calculator?
Hey, everyone. I was accepted EDI last December. To clear up some confusion I noticed here, we did receive emails (late evening, same date as promised) notifying us of our admission status, regardless of what their decision was. A handful got their emails a few days late (maybe 1-4 days late). Packets will come in the mail (and, yes, the rumors of confetti are true) a couple weeks to a month later in my experience.
I heard via Reed’s Twitter that you all should be notified the “last week of March.” Vague, I know, but I guess it’s better than April 1.
I wish the best to you all!
Reed will notify those living outside the US via Email. I am sure this.
I really hope I’ll hear good news from Reed next week. I just got rejected by Vassar and I’m honestly feeling so dejected right now.
I’m so sorry…
I’ve been riding this admissions storm alongside my son, who has been accepted, deferred and rejected at various schools. My advice to him and all of you leaders, inventors, mentors, and general hopefuls for the future, please keep the faith. These college letters do not define you or your worth. Hang in there and remember you are the future and I can’t wait to see what your generation can and will do for us!!
Waitlisted at Oberlin. Reed is the last LAC left. Wish me luck.
Good luck to all.
Has anyone been able to get the college office to say whether this is the last week of March or next week is the last week of March? Or maybe they are hedging and mailing on Saturday. I just don’t know what the purpose of obscuring the mailing date is.
Has anyone gotten anything yet? I threw up at lunch today I’m so stressed about this. What was that handwritten letter thing?
@Cosmological
I hope you get accepted. You really deserve this school; Reed and you sound like a lock and a key.
