Wow! Ok. This is News! Congratulations to your daughter. If I may ask, what is your location/when did she submit he application?
I think she submitted it right around the deadline, which IIRC was 3/1.
We’re in California. Though I wouldn’t think location would affect when the email would be sent…

@thshadow did anything change on DD’s application portal? talked to admissions just now and they said they were only sending corresponding emails a week after admissions decisions were mailed out
also, may I ask some of her stats?
Did anybody else just received an email?
I did not until now.
@Happyface1998 An acceptance? What region are you from? I know through emails it might not matter but I’m trying to make some sense
@coolbeans2021 I did not receive any package or email yet, but I am staying hopeful! I asked, because if other people would have received emails today at 9 PM PST, it might have been a pattern that they started to send out emails every evening from now on… Though it does not seem like it… Therefore I was just wondering… I am currently in Minnesota. Good luck to you!
@evanpiercegriggs - still no change on her portal actually.
Her stats are rather unconventional. She’s currently at WashU in St. Louis. 1st semester she had a 3.5 (though taking classes that had very few freshman in it). In HS, her unweighted GPA was - wait for it - 3.46… She got a 35 on the ACT and a 760 on her Math 2, and she also submitted her 570 on the Japanese subject test.
She’s definitely an unusual kid - and IMO a perfect fit for Reed. She just loves learning things, and she doesn’t care what her grades are or if she’s particularly good at it. (See the Japanese subject test.) Her application (essays and recs) definitely backed that up.
She also interviewed there in mid March. Afterwards, her comment was that she was afraid she was too enthusiastic. Which sounds funny coming from her, as she is so honest and transparent, that when she interviewed at Mudd and they asked her “why Mudd”, she said, hmmm, I’m not really sure…
anyone else hear anything? I’m in NJ and I haven’t heard anything besides what I posted earlier
I wrote a email and they replied:
We are releasing decisions throughout the week, so at this point, no news doesn’t mean a rejection, it just means your decision hasn’t been released yet.
Thank you for your patience. You should expect to hear back by the end of the week. If you haven’t, feel free to check back with us on Monday.
Also if anyone’s interested in the stats (though I’m a international student so the pool’s probably different):
Attends Smith, first-year, 3.93 (I took one a hundred and three two hundred classes), SAT 1540, intends to major in math and philosophy.
I’m kind of anxious as I wrote my supplement on comparative BDSM and critical theory. (I noticed the difference in western/Chinese BDSM practices and tried to analyze it.)
(Transfer essay was on why philosophy and critical theory and some HS experience.)
Alright well I’ll join this bandwagon even tho it probably won’t help my anxiety.
HS:
— generally a bad student
— ~3.0 GPA, didn’t take it seriously
— Took SAT once in junior year and got a 1770/2400 just because everyone else was doing it
— 1 AP calc class, didn’t take the AP exam tho
Enrolled in community college bc my AP calc teacher pushed me to pursue mathematics, something he inspired in me. I wrote my common app essay on him.
CC:
— 3.93 GPA
— President of Mathematics Club (have constructed drones, harmonographs, theremins, nuclear fusion reactors, and a musical Tesla coil.)
— Member of Engineering Club
— Member of Rotaract Club (participated in mealpackings, packed around 100,000 meals total). Earned an award from Donald Trump for volunteer service. Earned several commendations from NJ senator and state.
— Teaching assistant for calculus I, II, III, linear algebra, and currently differential equations.
Wrote my paideia essay about differential equations. I’ll be honest it wasn’t the best essay ever but I hope my progression through HS as well as my recs will put me an even playing field with you guys ^~^
Chuffing it sounds like
Also bandwagonning but I feel a community here so here are my stats:
High school didn’t get the best grades, 3.6 GPA overall
Editor in chief of school magazine was my biggest thing, but besides that not much going for me…I got a 28 on my ACT but a 35 On English and a 34 on reading…my math and science barely passed lol
Got into Mount Holyoke,
- first semester got a 3.78,
- took two 200 level classes
- Chairman of a local reproductive rights convention
- started a literary magazine
- bedsider school rep
- student art gallery coordinator
Planning to major in history or anthropology
I went in for an interview so hopefully that helps…and I write my essay on improvisational music!
Did anyone get mail/a package yet?
I got my usps mail today so if it was just a letter I haven’t gotten it. No packages yet tho
Can someone please post if they receive the acceptance email tonight? I’m super anxious as I have already been rejected by Wellesley. Thx!
