Reed College Transfers 2018-2019

I was accepted before noon. Look out for an email that says, “This email comes in a big envelope.”

My son hasn’t heard anything yet…

@groundedppl what region do you live in?

also did anything change on your portal?

Illinois

I’m in Nebraska…here’s to hoping they’re for some reason going by region and they’re taking their time on the Midwest

Waitlisted. Just got an email.

@butfirstcoffee what region are you in?

@butfirstcoffee also may I ask your stats? I’m super nervous as I haven’t heard anything so I just want to anticipate my own decision

Sure!

From Southern California at a community college
27 years old, low income, not married, no kids
White Female
High School GPA: 3.0
College GPA: 3.91
Would be entering as a junior.
English major
ECs: working on my Private Pilot License, honor society, do some stuff with peace and social justice on campus, have a cool job history prior to re-entering college
I don’t have a math class completed. Everything else pre-req was done.

@butfirstcoffee gulp

im new to waitlists, is there anything you can do to influence your chances of admission after being waitlisted? with your stats I’m really amazed by the decision

Yeah they sent a list of what to send in for a LOCI. I already committed to another school though!

@evanpiercegriggs I’m from Southern California. And no, nothing changed on my portal.

My D was accepted today as a sophomore. She is currently at Scripps.

Accepted! About 10 minutes ago!

Admitted!

@Saximore will I be seeing you in Portland?

Yes

I only applied to three schools and have already been rejected by Pomona and Wellesley (but I prefer Reed to Wellesley).

@Saximore @evanpiercegriggs congrats!!! If it’s not too personal to ask, do you need financial aid?

No. It is usually much harder for Chinese students to get financial aid. I might have to gap and work for the tuition if I couldn’t graduate in four years though.
