Hey, I am an international applicant and since there was no thread created for Reed EA applications I thought this might be a good idea to keep up to date
Reed EA from India.
EA applicant from Russia.
Does anyone know when exactly the decisions come out?
Hoping it’ll be sometime this week?
Hey there I am an applicant from China! I haven’t received any offer yet from my early round colleges and I am really counting on Reed
I believe decisions will be mailed by February 1st according to the website. It’s possible they’ll also be released on the applicant portal on that day as well.
FROM INDIA?
Does anyone know if we should expect a package, email, or portal update?
I think internationals will receive an email first and then their package but for domestic it’s package/letter only. I didn’t receive any email or update on the portal about my decision (SoCal EDI applicant) and only found out I was accepted when the box arrived through FedEx. If I recall correctly, I don’t think they use the portal for anything other than the checklist.
Does anyone know the acceptance rate for EA applicants?
@wrodas123 I guess it is not available
Today’s the results right?
@HitarthS in last years report https://www.reed.edu/ir/cds/cds1718/cdssecc201718.pdf decision notification was 1/31, but this year 2/1 is written on the web page. So im not sure
Seems it was 2/9 last year.
My daughter got a handwritten postcard in the mail from a student intern telling her about things going on on campus right now and letting her know that if she has any questions about Reed to reach out. I’m guessing that means she got in. But she hasn’t gotten any official notification or anything. Guess everyone will have to wait until tomorrow.
I’m not sure whether to use last year’s process as a guide for this year. Last year their website said (https://web.archive.org/web/20180123041602/https://www.reed.edu/apply/guide-to-applying/first-year/index.html) it would be mailed “Late January,” but it turned out that they e-mailed people on February 9, with packages arriving afterwards. I’m guessing they e-mailed them because they were a good week or more later than they essentially promised. (Reed’s admissions office seemed to have a series of issues last spring.)
I’m going to assume they’ll be mailed tomorrow, with no e-mail forthcoming, and applicants will receive them next week. Note: that is based on absolutely no inside information, just my sense from reading last year’s threads – I think they want to do it “old school,” but they were so late last year that they may have felt forced to send e-mails.
But watch me be totally wrong tomorrow. :))
@dla26 hmm. i’m not sure if that means anything. i received handwritten postcards back in december before they had a chance to really look at my application
I’d actually called the admissions office. They’re to be declared on Feb 1.
Just got FedEx alert. Acceptance package shipping today!
My daughter also got a handwritten postcard this week, so that was a big hint
