I live in Philadelphia and as of today at 11 am i havent heard anything, rejection or acceptance! So just letting others know if this info is at all helpful
Did anyone get financial aid stuff yet?
@caszim77 My banner says “Your estimated cost of attendance is $74,490.00.” What about yours?
@appfast Yep I got the same amount. The FAQ that came with box said FA awards should be out by Dec 22 or tomorrow.
I have still heard nothing, rejection or acceptance, in Michigan. Should I be worried?
@swmichigang Same here in Southern California. I called admissions earlier today and they said wait until the end of the week, then contact them if you still haven’t heard anything.
@swmichigang May be check your banner? Accepted students have some changes there!
My banner has not been updated, so I’m going to go ahead and assume the worst.
@ventirat
I have been admitted and my banner has not changed. I also could not see anything in FedEx and had not received any emails until the day I actually received my box hours after. They coordinate the emails with the estimated date of delivery. Maybe they coordinate banner updates too? Don’t give up yet!
International here. I’ve received my email but haven’t got the snail mail. Is one coming for the international students? And what’s inside the box? Noone has really talked about it…
@ikindawannadie
There is a copy of the illiad , a pencil that says Reed College, Acceptance letter, Confetti, notebook and some information about admit visit days,faqs, and how to pay your enrollment deposit.
I think that is meant as a surprise, man…
@MindLife
Whoops my bad I didn’t know. I kinda deep searched and found out before hand on a forum and video somewhere…
hey guys,
I applied to Reed for ED II.
Those who got into ED I, mind sharing your stats?
I’m really worried.
Has everyone from ED I got their decision though?
@pessimist10 My SAT was 1360 and my gpa was around 3.6 (I think). As you can see there is nothing really special about my stats, but I think what got me in was good essays (admissions even wrote me a note that they liked them) and lots of demonstrated interest. I’m also first generation so that may have been a ‘hook’ for me. Anyway I strongly advise that you go for an interview if you haven’t already and good luck.
@pessimist10 I’m an international student got admitted with fininancial aid.
ACT: 33
SAT2: 1560(math2: 800)
GPA: my school was weird we use a 4.5 scale with a+ = 4.5 and d- = 1.2… my career weighted:4.42
Five 5s and one four on the AP exams… but I don’t know they evaluated AP scores or not.
Intended major: Math/Physics/Philosophy
Basically no activity besides math team, coding team and chess team and got no awards at all.
A somewhat good first interview, but they interviewed me again the day before decision mailed, in which I was nervous and tried hard and desperately to discuss the chapter in the philosophy book I read last night. My essay was weird and I tried to write like a Japanese writer and used the technique “mono no aware” to describe how I peeled potatoes. That means I wrote nothing explicitly about myself. Also I flunked supplemental essay by starting it three hours before application due, and it was about the benefit of reading novels, and which I failed even to convince myself. Please remember I applied for math and physics, which I did few demonstrations of interests in the entire process.
I think my application materials covered how many academic interests I have, but did a poor job giving the very depth to any particular one of interest. I admit I was lucky to be accepted. I think my standard test scores really carried my essays.
For future references: please do keep your standard test scores high if you are not a good essay writer. Admission at Reed still evaluate it by some personage. Also creative writings may not necessarily get you rejected.
Good luck.
At what time of day can I expect the decisions to release?(ED-2)
I am an international so I will be getting an e-mail
@inanebabbler I’m an international too, waiting for the decision. I wonder when are they releasing emails.
I’m a SoCal applicant for ed 2. Has anyone seen a shipment coming in from fedex?
We will have to wait upto 3 or 4 days to a week based on what I have seen from previous years…
