Anyone have an experience with younger students entering Reed as Freshman? having been grade skipped earlier in school?

I have that question too! I’ll be 17 by this fall, but I was wondering if anyone has run into any trouble with being a minor at Reed, or wants to share their experience.

I’ll technically be a minor too, but only until November…My guess is that we’re close enough to being adults, so for things besides maybe sex, we shouldn’t be treated all too differently. I mean, we’ll all be in college, right? Enjoying (and suffering) the same experiences, I think that’s worth more than a number.

Honestly, unless such a student is incredibly immature, no one will care.

I don’t know how someone will know you are 16/a minor unless you tell them.

ahhhh good I was thinking about that, I’ve always been young for my grade. I’ll turn 18 in late September, nice to know other people will be in the same boat as me haha

Oh, I’m not worried about the social aspect. I was thinking of unexpected legal stuff. Like “if I don’t get this form signed by a parent by 5 today I’m screwed” type thing.

Once you are in college, you sign your own forms, regardless of your age. I can’t think of any situation in which that could happen.
