Reed Regular Decision 2022

I haven’t seen a thread for regular decision applicants yet, so here we go! Last year, epic boxes were mailed out 3/15. I’m thinking they’ve already been mailed out or will be tomorrow. Good luck to you all!

Nothing here yet.

Hey I applied too! Any news on when decisions come out?

@afisher623 Reed does decisions through mail. Last year they were shipped on Wednesday 3/15. So I think they were mailed either Wednesday, yesterday, or today.

@agfavista1600 great thanks!

Has anyone received or found any information regarding the release date or mailing of decisions?
Has anyone attempted the FedEx delivery tracker method?
I heard some people received pamphlets in the mail relevant to their chosen majors, is this true? (I saw this on reddit.)

Hi! We are hoping our daughter will get admitted to Reed. We did get a letter in the mail a couple weeks ago with two brochures- one for each major she is interested in. I’m wondering if they send this to everyone? Or should we be hopeful that it may mean something?

I applied undeclared and have not received anything in the mail about any majors recently.

D received an Anthropology brochure. I’d like to think it means something but am pretty sure everybody who indicated an interest in a major department got one.

I didn’t get one; although, I’m not sure what that means since I just moved to a new home and forgot to change my mailing address in the application portal. When exactly did you guys receive the pamphlets—what date?

I have not tried the fedex method, I made an account but I was unable to verify that the address was my own. I might call fedex later and ask about any packages being delivered to my house.

I also received a brochure about my intended major in the mail, hopefully its a good sign. But it was most likely sent to all applicants.

I did not receive a brochure regarding my intended major. Is this a bad sign? Granted, I’m also located in the Mid-Atlantic, so it might just be taking awhile to get here.

Best of luck to all while we patiently (or impatiently) wait for our decisions!

I got two brochures about the two majors I am interested in. I really hoped it was a good sign, but who knows?
Here’s hoping we’ll all get boxes from Reed in the mail!

Got a brochure here, too - about a week ago…

Could they really be giving away their decisions with the whole “intended major pamphlet” thing? That seems a little too obvious; and it also depends completely on when they actually admit someone as I assume they’re still reviewing applicants at this point in time.

Admittedly, I’m hoping it doesn’t mean anything as I haven’t received one yet. (Taking into account that I just moved and didn’t change my address through the portal, I’m hoping it got lost in the mail or sent to my previous address—even though I already told USPS to redirect mail to my new address.)

I heard last night through my son, who has also applied to Reed for next Fall, that they aren’t sending out admission notifications until April 1 (no joke). His friend, who’s in Reed’s Class of 2021, told him this.

@FrankieG By “admission notifications”, do you mean through email, the applicant status portal, or physical mail?

@Hizeus Good question. Sorry to be vague. My understanding is that it would be via email, and for those accepted, the “package” (i.e., book and other goodies) would be sent out FedEx that day as well, as has happened in the past but on a different date. However, I will ask my son when he gets home if his Reed friend gave any clarification. Stay tuned.

@Hizeus Also, fwiw, Reed’s website (https://www.reed.edu/apply/guide-to-applying/first-year/index.html) indicates that for RD applicants, “decisions [are] mailed” on April 1.
