Nothing here either. I’m in the same boat, I have other acceptances so I don’t NEED Reed… that being said it would be nice to know the decision so I can plan college trips effectively (especially since we have to reply by May 1- the clock is ticking!)
So if we haven’t heard anything then we’ve been rejected?
So got nothing yet. Was defered from ED.
For those still waiting, my D received an email yesterday evening at 6:18pm PST. There is nothing in the FedEx Delivery Manager about a package this morning. We are hoping this isn’t a mistake.
Dear ,
If your good news has not yet arrived in the mail, let me be the first to say congratulations on your admission and welcome to the Class of 2022.
Reed’s admitted students page is your hub for information about campus events and special opportunities for you and your classmates. There you can join the class of 2022 Facebook group, plan a visit to campus, register for an admitted student reception, and, of course, enroll.
If you haven’t yet, please take these steps to confirm your place in the Class of 2022:
- Return the enrollment form to our office by May 1, 2018. To complete your enrollment form, you will need your Reed ID which is xxxxxxx.
- Enclose your nonrefundable $400 enrollment deposit with the enrollment form, or deposit online. This will be applied to your first semester's tuition. Your second deposit of $400 will be due June 15, 2018.
- Send your final high school transcript to the admission office at the completion of the school year. Your final transcript, showing your graduation date, must be on file before you can register for classes next fall. Our offer of admission is contingent upon the successful completion of your current academic program.
- Notify us if your postal or email addresses change, because we'll be communicating with you periodically over the next few months regarding the steps leading to your Orientation week at Reed.
If you have any questions, please be in touch with your regional counselor. We are eager to help.
I look forward to welcoming you to campus.
Sincerely,
This is actually ridiculous. It’s upsetting to see the lack of respect and dignity the admissions office has shown us throughout this process. Should we email/call about our admission decisions if we have yet to receive them?
@agfavista1600 I emailed them and they told me to call/send another email by next week if I haven’t heard back by then.
Oh good lord, we’d better hear by then! I agree - this shows a total lack of respect on their part.
Have you all been getting emails from Reed consistently throughout the application process? I have from other colleges, but not Reed.
Is everyone that got in receiving that email? If we did not get one, does that mean we have been rejected?
Not feeling great about Reed right now, and if i get in i am not sure i will consider going after all this.
Have not gotten a single email from Reed aside from the one right after applying saying “thanks for applying.” Crickets ever since. Have gotten lots of lovely, friendly emails from all the other colleges. I’m about done with Reed too.
Everybody criticizing reed for not hearing back yet needs to relax…they explicitly say on the website that decisions will be MAILED on april 1st. It takes 2-7 days to get packages all across the country, no matter your proximity to pdx. So complaining on april 2nd that you havent heard back and saying it reflects poorly on reed makes no sense. Clearly people receiving packages already show that reed has sent some out early too. Be patient. Don’t take it out on reed if you didnt get in.
Reed’s admitted student day is April 9th. In my opinion, it is poorly planned out on their end to expect kids (many that are out of the country, let alone out of state) to make plans to fly/drive out when they get their admissions decision April 7th. I have work, and it is difficult to get time off let alone schedule a flight with that small amount of time. I need to be able to plan in advance- at least more than two days.
I understand some of this might be overdramatic, but I have applied to, gotten rejected, as well as gotten accepted into many schools more selective than Reed. They have all treated my time with respect and made sure to get their decisions out in a timely manner. I need to have my decision in by May 1, and Reed is not giving me much time to make my decision, because whether I get in will matter to that decision.
It is not too much to ask for our time to be respected.
No it’s not, but reed gave you full disclosure of the date when decisions would be MAILED. If you did not plan accordingly, or didn’t like its place in the context of the visit day, you didn’t have to apply beloved
I didn’t even know about the Admitted Student day until just now. How did you find out about that date? Will not be able to make it on such short notice, especially not even knowing if I’ve been admitted or not yet.
I found it on their website- here’s the link!

I just called and got the same response as everyone else… I will get it by the end of the week. But by the end of the week, I was going to be on my way to Portland to visit! So I guess we will see.
Looks like there’s another Admitted Student day on April 23. Hopefully we’ll have gotten a decision by then!
We were finally notified that a FedEx shipping label had been created by Reed for our address.
It appears that they are still making decisions and pushing out the emails as they go.
As a Dad, I really feel for all of you. Stay positive and good luck.
My daughter received her acceptance today by email. We are very excited.
@wenderoo Did they also send the package? And did u get a fedex email beforehand by any chance?
@jcole32 we never received an email from FedEx, I checked the website this morning and there was a tracking id in the Fedex Delivery Manager. (Not sure why we didn’t get an email)
If you don’t have an account setup, you will have to call FedEx.
At this point it looks like you will get the email first and then a box will be shipped.
No package yet but haven’t checked today’s deliveries. The email came early this morning and basically said they were reaching out to let us know just in case we hadn’t received the package yet. We have never gotten a fed-ex email.
