Im also a bilingual hispanic. lets assume also that I can write a good essay. the thing about the gpa is that early in hs i was screwing aroung and got way more Bs that i should have. this last year has seen a rise in my grade trend with more As in tougher classes.

oh, and i was also one of five at my school invited to attend summer symposium for high school students hosted by the oregon association for the humanities...I was wondering if that would help show that i enjoy taking a deep plunge into thinking.

AND....I might be able to attend a debate and public speaking program at Notre Dame over the summer....would this help?

it seems like a stretch, but what are the chances

OH and BTW....I put this exact post up earleir and I got like 1 reply out of like 3284734 (well, maybe like out of 100). Any comment would be great help....Thanks!

You can read the decision threads for yourself, and see how you stack up against those who were admitted, waitlisted, and rejected.
Without the SAT and AP test scores, it's hard to judge your chances. Most ND applicants have good grades and lots of ECs.
And, as you'll see when reviewing the old threads, the results are all over the map. Very few applicants are shoe-ins.

Bilingual is a GREAT plus...but definitely a reach unless you can pull off some spectacular SAT scores--so make sure you have some good matches and some safeties...this past spring surprised many applicants. Always shoot high, but be prepared to go that match or safety.

If you're hispanic, you have a phenomanol chance of getting in compared to other typical smart, white applicants. I mean, you still have to qualify, but I'd say if you have a 30+ on the ACT, or 1980+ SAT, you're a very, very solid match.

you really should take more challenging classes if possible though.

GL!

I agree with all the above posters, its hard to chance anyway, but without test scores, its next to impossible. I do think this is a reach based on your grades. A Girl from my son's school is hispanic, came from Columbia in elementary school, great student, full IB, one A- , 2100+ SAT , good EC's and she was waitlisted, so ND is a reach for anyone. Admissions is tough these days. If you look through the threads ND seems more test score driven then many other selective schools. Study hard.
