I applied to the University of Oregon for the fall 2012 semester and just checked my application status, which says "referred to scholastic review". What does this mean?
I know it's a longshot getting in the university of oregon for me because of my grades and sat scores, but i feel like my background story is just what they're looking for.

background-

Weighted gpa of 2.9 SAT score of 1320 :( I come from an oakland public school in california On the varsity soccer team for 3 years Member of various school clubs I am a Thai and Laotion female I have a very strong personal statement. In my essay I've included the reason why I havent been able to do the best i could've done. I am the oldest out of nine grandchildren and have often been forced to push school work aside to help take care of my family. I grew up with my grandparents and the language barrier was difficult growing up. (asking for homework help etc.) I moved in with my aunt and then recently moved in with my single mother, who supports me and my two younger siblings. I've had to find a job to help support my family. Also i stated that I'm the first person in my family who is going to college.

I've also had to make up credits for certain classes, so i sent in a letter explaining the courses that im making up. I also attached proof of me being in the classes and had the vice principle sign it. In the letter i also stated due to the one million budget cut towards the oakland school district there has been many hardships. My school cut all college counselors therefore i was told faulty information.

I just hope I'm given a chance. Do you think i'll be waitlisted?
fingers crossed
