I was just wondering what "Referred to Standard Review" meant, it's in the decision row under my application status. Should I be concerned? My GPA is above a 3.0, although not by a lot, I got a 1960 on my SAT, several AP courses throughout high school and all that good stuff. Is this not good enough? Or am I just being paranoid and this is something they put on my application to let me know they're looking at it?

It means your numbers were not high enough for a quick admittance so they will review your application in full (essays, etc.). My son had the same thing happen last year and was not admitted until March. But some got answers sooner. All depends on how many highly qualified applicants they get this year. Hang in there.

alrighty, thanks for the reply!

Hi elizacollege: yes, not to worry, many applicants are referred to our standard review process. It’s possible that we will want to see your grades from this past semester, but we will let you know if that’s the case.

Thank you UOregon for your response, I found out today that I was deferred and that my 7th semester transcripts will be required. I don’t know if you’ll be able to answer this but, do a good majority of deferred applicants get accepted?

Yeah, unfortunately I don’t have that data. Also, even if I did, what happened last year might not necessarily predict what happens this year. I can tell you that the number of applicants who are deferred is quite high, and that we really just want a better picture of your success in high school. I’d say don’t worry, but I know college application time is stressful!
