Refrigerators...buy or rent?

I need a small fridge for my dorm room. It seems more economical to buy one, rather than rent one. What did you guys do?

I would buy one (its only like $120+) and you can keep it for the next four years.

yeah i say buy a used one for about $50...you can store it for a reasonable price over the summer through BIG RED SHIPPING/STORAGE

I made my ex buy me one, but I would have bought one (they're pretty cheap and it's easy to find a used one...and my parents would have paid for it...). You're going to want cold alcohol, especially when you run out of money and start resorting to Bartons vodka or similar sub-bottom shelf liquor/gasoline. Most people can't hold down ice cold Bartons, let alone luke-warm Bartons, so get a fridge to minimize the potential vomit in your room. If cold alcohol isn't your primary concern, it never pays to rent an item that only costs 100 dollars. You're better off getting your own fridge and selling it to some freshman when you no longer need it.

I bought a new one from best buy for under 100. The storage cost is 25 or 35 per term over the summer if you are using BRSS. I think it's a lot cheaper just to buy a fridge rather than forking over 100+ dollars a year to rent one. Also, you can sell your fridge when you graduate.

whats BRSS?
if you live in hasbrouck... and they give you a big fridge in your kitchen... should you still bring a small one for your own room?

Also, at the end of the year a lot of people don't have room to bring things back home such as fridges. In my dorm there were about 10 mini fridges that people intentionally left behind for the Dump N' Run that you could have taken for yourself.
