Refund sent to APEX

How long does the refund check take to reach my local mailing address(Sacramento)? Distance is approximately 400 miles but I'm sure that doesn't matter much as long as in Cali. Currently check status is 'Sent to Apex' and I need the money from the refund to buy books. Also moving to SB in 12 days so its pointless if the check comes later than that date and I wouldn't be able to deposit any money into my account for school use. Thanks, much appreciated.

I’m no help- but in literally the same exact situation. Sacramento, need books, need $ for deposit. The holiday really screwed up the timing I’m sure. Any day, I bet! Today, tomorrow?

UCSB Financial Aid office recording says that the money cannot be mailed until September 14th by law. If you have direct deposit, it says that the funds will be deposited into your account on the 14th. (unless you signed up for direct deposit late, then it will be mailed).

Thank you Scootergal! And lets hope for the best kingtut. I did not set up a direct deposit so I guess I will be waiting for the check. If its sent on the 14th(Monday) then it should take 2-3 days to reach us, Kingtut. So at latest I assume would be the 17th, and if not we have friday the 18th to bounce back on. Let’s hope it comes =)

So I found out our local mailing address would be our dorms because it is stated in GOLD meaning that the check will be sent to our dorms. But it is being sent on the 14th and move-in day would be the 19-20th and our P.O. box/mailbox won’t be activated until then. Can anyone clarify? Should I change local mailing address to mine and if I do will it make it in time before I leave?

it’s a PO BOX, i dont see why it has to be “activated” so the mail people can drop mail into it.

Last year, the check they sent to the PO box failed to deliver, and I had to wait 30 minutes in front of the billing office to get the check. I think they make people switch to direct deposit if their checks fail to deliver.

i think you should change you local address to your current one. most llikely they will get here before move-in day.

I have direct deposit and just got an email:

Deposit Number: 6069306
Deposit Total: XXXX
Deposit Processed on: 09/09/2009
Funds available on: 09/11/2009
or first banking day thereafter

Okay, sounds good. I’ll just call finaid and ask them what they think, but I think I will change my local mailing address until I move in. I didn’t connect my bank account with barc so its a bit late for eRefund. Sucks being 17 for so long… thanks guys!

I forgot I had updated the Gold Account, so I wouldn’t forget when I move in, so my check has been mailed to the Local Mailing Address, which was updated to Santa Ynez Apartments. I guess I have to wait to move-in until I receive the check. I suppose its not so bad, since I would have only received the check days before move-in if it is being delivered on the 14th.

It is not too late to sign up for Direct Deposit online.

well for this quarter it is too late to sign up for direct deposit. i signed up about a week ago and the payment method on barc says check.

Same here. I am getting a check apparently. Said it was mailed so I figure it’ll come before the 14th… it better!
