<p>My guidance counselor just told me she doesn't use the Common App forms, she has her own form that has "basically" the same information that she mails in. Also, the teachers can't use the Common App online submissions, they have to mail in each letter of recommendation. Will schools hold this against me (even subconsciously)? Applying to top LACs.</p>
<p>They won’t hold it against you. My school did the same thing – if anything it just gives you the heart attack because you have to personally keep up on everything to make sure it all gets in.</p>
<p>Don’t worry about it…most high schools hve their own standardized forms and the colleges are fine with them.</p>
<p>They care about the substance of the letter, not about the form it’s on. One of my d’s teachers didn’t send a form at all, just a letter, and her results were very good.</p>
