My first choice of major was geological sciences, but if i chose BIOchemistry as my second choice, do i have to write the “chemistry” science statement? i think i may end up changing the second major to undecided, but what do u think? thanks!

You can write about what you want. You only write one essay, so write about your top choice. Btw, the Geo department here is amazing-- great researchers, but even better people.

hey thx for ur response, but im not sure u understood my question. i wanted to know that in my brown app, i indicated first degree choice as B.S. Geological Sciences and second choice as B.S. Biochemistry. Now i wanted to know whether my second choice of BioCHEMISTRY will require me to write the Chemistry statement essay from the choice of Chemistry, Physics, Engineering and Comp Science statements. And also, i heard that the geosciences at Brown are amazing which is what grabbed me attention! i applied to Princeton early, which i really hope i do get into............... if not, Brown is another hopeful choice for me! so thx for help.

aoshi- i applied to princeton ED and listed biocem as my second degree choice on the brown app as well! what are the odds!? haha ummm anyway I have the exact same question as you do. i bet/hope we don't have to write the essay for biochem, but I would appreciate some help from someone who knows!

Just write it on the field of science you want to study. I think they'll understand... you could also reaffirm that your first choice is geosciences in the essay to avoid confusion with the chemistry button.

no, i dont think you need to right the sciences essay. you should prob. contact the admissions office just to make sure though.
