Hi, I'm considering to apply to Furman University this coming school year.
Furman seems wonderful but I was concerned about the diversity on campus and the surrounding area. I'm Asian-American from Northern California where it is extremely diverse. Furman is a predominantly Caucasian campus and this concerns me a bit. Do minority students often have their own bubble/feel included? If I could get any input from any minority students that would be great!
Also I am interested in the majors of Asian Studies and Political Science majors. If any current student has any input on these programs I would love to hear it.

My daughter just graduated from Furman in May. She is Asian and had no problem making friends. The number of minority students has increased since her Freshman year and there are many Asian students involved with Greek life. I don’t think that would be an issue, especially if she becomes involved with a sorority. I can’t speak about the Asian Studies program, I believe it is relatively small, but the Political Science program is top notch.
