Regarding I 20

Hello friend, I am from Nepal and I have been admitted into university at may4 and received financial award email at may 10.

I was accepted into the university before I have completed my all application requirements as

  1. No application fee
    2.No document evaluation from Wes
  2. No grade 9 transcript
    4.No bank statement
    5.No letter of sponsorship

I was surprised that I was accepted into the university. Once I have emailed to university regarding I 20. At that time Byron has responded to my email stating that I need to complete my application to get I 20.

I was shocked that I need to pay the application fee after getting admitted into the college. However, I had paid my application fees and complete all my application requirements. However, I am having one great problem.

I would not be able to prepare the bank statement showing the history of transaction as money do not remain available at the bank at all time. I , therefore have to send the bank balance certificate instead of bank statement. Would the bank balance certificate work? Or I would not get I 20 unless I send the bank statement showing the history of transaction. It is clearly stated in the website that the bank statement cannot be the letter written by the bank and it must show the history of transaction.

I have shared the same with the consultancies from Nepal but they reacted that Howard university will send I 20 at the very last hour although you submit the bank balance certificate. Is it true or I need to send the bank statement compulsorily to get an I 20.

I am hoping for your helpful response,

Thank you

Hello @Shaankhan A bank statement is needed as they have requested. Dont worry if the money isnt available inside all the time in the past, although it should currently be the same amount as the ‘general undergraduate fees minus the scholarship you received’ at the moment. Yes, my bank refused to print out a statement for me too at first but urging them seemed to change their mind. Well anyways, if the current amount is same or more than the amount aforementioned, it’s fine regardless of how much u had or went to 0 in the past. Taking it is June now, ur latest month written on the statement can be as early as April, when u had ur money in. About the certificate part though… I had called them before and they kinda said sth about submitting an attestation written by the bank itself to provide proof that the certificate is authentic. Not sure about that though bro, better u call them back and ask them about that case. A statement is the best choice if possible tho. Good luck mate. All the best.
P.S. Better u get started on ur WES asap
