Regarding issues on test day

Hey guys, I just gave my SAT subject tests today (the 21st Jan one)

Unfortunately, I had gastritis(loose motion) during the testing period and I have a doctor’s prescription which says so. Now, I sat for Math II as my first test, and then during the break after the test, I visited the restroom. The test center had only 3 bathrooms though, and students from SAT I also came to the restroom. However, because I had loose motion, I could not return to the room although the allotted break time was up.

Now, when I came back my 2nd test, Chemistry, had already been going on for about 5 minutes. I hurriedly began working but I did not fill in any scantrons after question 38, but I finished till question 63 in the question book(the chemistry test has 70 questions, and I’m certain my first 63 answers were quite accurate).

I have two paths to take here:

  1. I can contact college board, explain my situation, scan my doctor's prescription and email it to them. If they accept my complaint and check manually from my question book, I should get a decent enough score. What are the chances of this happening, if any?
  2. If college board rejects it, I can email the admission offices of each university I applied to, explain my situation, and ask them to not consider my chemistry test. I sat for a Biology M test, so I already have 2 tests, and none of the programs I applied to require more than 2. I already sent my scores before sitting for the test so unfortunately they'll have to see my chem score. They will only consider the best two subject SAT tests though, right?

Anything else that I could do? Please help me out…

If need be, could you cancel the scores? This link explains: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/scores/canceling-scores

No, because they said if I want to cancel my scores, I have to cancel scores for all the tests :frowning: Thanks for the reply though.

Any other ideas guys?

Zip.

While you could do that, I am of the opinion that it will be a waste of time. First, it’s just TMI. Second, the colleges pretty much all state they will look at the best 2 anyway. Don’t overthink this.

@skieurope They’ll actually check the best two? That’s great news! I think I can email college board anyways?

@skieurope Also, on CommonApp I wrote that I will give 3 tests for the Jan sitting

I agree completely with @skieurope on this one. What’s done is done.

Thanks for your opinions guys.
Usually, I do well in standardized tests so this worried me a lot. However, shouldn’t I at least explain to the universities why my score turned out to be so low, although I got top grades during my high school classes and my A level exams?

No, just no.

No one holds you to complete what you anticipated would be your future tests.

Thanks so much guys, your insights will help me a lot
