Regarding my Practice ACT Score...

So I recently took a practice ACT test (my first one) without any studying, and here are my results:

Reading: 28
Math: 34
Science: 30
English (w/o essay): 29
Composite: 30

So, I was wondering how many points I could improve by the April ACT, and which section could I easily improve the most?

  1. I started off with low 30s and high 20s on the ACT Reading, but I got a 36 on the December ACT. It’s very doable – You need to work on reading every word in the passage. Every single question can be directly supported by the passage itself, unlike the bogus SAT CR.
  2. 34 probably means careless mistakes and concept problems. I’m sure you know what you need to work on.
  3. This is a solid starting point, but as you’ll find, Science is difficult to move up. It takes a lot of practice – And as you may have already seen, DON’T read the passages first.
  4. Learn grammar rules. SAT Writing section actually helps a lot.

Thanks for the tip! I found myself running out of time and unable to answer a few questions for Science and Reading, so I guess I need to work in speed as well, but thanks once again!
