regarding recommendation--help needed:)

hi everybody!could any of u give me some advice wrt the following problem? i really do not know what i should do.

i'm an international student applying to US colleges. Our school suggests that we can write a personal write-up for teachers to facilitate them in writing recom for us. so i wrote one. yesterday one of my teachers msg me, saying that he thought my write-up was v well written and he was wondering whether i would allow him to quote some parts of it, and if so, he asked me to send a soft copy to him coz the write-up is pretty long.

do u think i should send it to him?or rather, i guess the question should be, should i tell him that i agree him to quote my own writing? my write-up is v genuine, but my concern is that, if he really quotes it, it might seem to the AOs that the teacher's perception of me is just based on my writing. Or should i agree to my teacher's suggestion but politely ask him to quote minimally and judiciously ? thanks so much!!

I think it's fine. My college advisor quoted me in his rec even though he knew me very well. It doesn't sound as if there's anything in your write up you would object to having him quote specifically. I think you should just agree unless you have a specific concern about your write up itself. You're trusting the teacher to write you a rec already, so I think it will turn out fine.

thank u so much:)
