Hi,

I wasn't offered any scholarship for the Fall 2008 year (Computer Science major, undergraduate, freshmen).

If you work hard and maintain a good GPA (somewhat above 3.20), does UMCP consider you for some type of scholarship which is renewable if you maintain good progress?

A lot of the colleges within the university do offer departmental scholarships for current students; you could look at the CMPS website to see what they’ve got. 3.2 is a pretty low GPA for being awarded a scholarship (maintaining it is another story) so you might want to check into those numbers.

@lindz: Actually, these are the requirements for the CS department scholarships;

* Full time student, undergraduate degree seeking student
- Computer Science Major
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or above
- Unless otherwise indicated, must have completed two of (CMSC311, CMSC330, CMSC351)

I was thinking of maintaining a 3.20. I can get a scholarship at 3.0
I guess its really hard to maintain a 3.0 at UMCP Computer Science :S
