Regarding the Early Decision process !

Hey friends,
I was thinking of applying to Cornell University as an Early Decision Applicant. Wondering if anyone else is applying to Cornell, too ? And, do you people know stats of students who have gone to Cornell, previously, from Nepal. Any suggestions regarding how I can strengthen my application ?

If you want to compete in Cornell from Nepal, you should have following stats:
SAT Not less than 1550
SAT Subject test Math 800, Physics/Chemistry not less than 750 (both 800 will be better)
TOEFL Not less than 112
A Level 5 As/ HSEB not less than 85% aggregate
Lots of ECAs
Essay Unique (may be- how did you tackle your difficult situation/problems)
Good Recommendations

Hello @0000yo0000 . You want to apply to Cornell just do it instead of posting on college confidential. The stats aforementioned is what the person who wrote believes to be the truth. But, he is merely correct as he is not a counselor nor an admission officer not even a Cornell student. So, if you want information email the admission office of the respective college. You will find an accurate and motivating answer there. Best luck friend!!

Just be yourself. TELL CORNELL WHO YOU ARE!! If they want you, they will take you even with a 1300 SAT and 70% plus two score. Just talk to them and demonstrate your interest.

Thanks @VMA7 I will try my best ! And, @maiju15 I think that the stats you posted are too much exaggerated. First of all, scoring 1500 + is very much difficult for nepalese students, and you ask for a score of not less than 1550 ? To my knowledge, the highest score in this Oct sat testing was 1540. So, I wonder how is anyone from Nepal going to be accepted at Cornell ? Furthermore, you mentioned " If you want to compete at cornell from Nepal ", when students hardly score above 1500, how do you expect students from Nepal to compete at Cornell with score of above 1550 ?

@0000yo0000 There’s no hard-rule. There seldom is, in most of these cases. You just have to show why you deserve to be there. These universities can fill half their entering class with people that have top scores, but they don’t. They accept people who show they can add to the dynamic student body. Show why you deserve to get that spot, regardless of your scores.
