Regents at UCSB vs. UCSD

Which would you choose if you were in my position?

UCSB
Pros: Regents scholarship, honors, priority registration, guaranteed housing all 4 years, college town, location
Cons: party school, mid tier

UCSD
Pros: higher ranking, my dream school for a long time, location, not a party school, more research opportunities?
Cons: antisocial, guaranteed dorms for only 2 years

**I still need to visit both campuses.

Anyone? It's just your opinion...

If money is an issue I would say UCSB looks better...however if money is not an issue I say go for UCSD because it has been your dream school for so long.

Personally, I don't find UCSB to be a party school, pretty much every college has lots of parties...I think it's more that UCSB's parties are so concentrated in one area (Isla Vista) because it is not a commuter school. Usually parties for other colleges are kind of far from the actual college, but for UCSB it seems like there is a lot of parties because it is mostly in one area.

Anyway, UCSD probably has a lot of parties as well, as does pretty much every college. So, I wouldn't really say it's antisocial.

Basically, I say visit both the schools and then decide which one you like better.

Sorry if this post isn't much help!

I visited UCSD and i hated it. It was my dream school throughout high school. Now im at berkeley. =p

^^ Why did you hate UCSD? Thanks.

I would also like to know. Half the people I talk to say they love it, other half hates it.

I like parties so I would pick UCSB
