Yes, I spoke specifically with the Regent's Scholarship Coordinator, and she said they were all sent out last Tuesday. Some invites could be hung up in the mail though, but I wouldn't rely on it.

I got my invite for UCLA on Saturday and I live in SF.

any out-of-state people got it?

So, is there a regent's status website where we can check whether or not they receive the stuff we send them?

How sure are you that we've been accepted into UCLA if we got invited to apply for the Regents Scholarship?

100% sure.

hey ek,

do you know if haas applicants are eligible for regents / would they have found out by now? (asking for a close friend)

Thank you. =)

Darn, so its impossible for transfers to get the regents scholarship at Berk?

HMMM...

Lets say you get into both UCB & UCLA, would you go to UCB or UCLA with the regents scholarship, assuming you get it.

UCB has the Regents scholarship, but from what a member of the Regents scholarship department told me, they notify transfers if they received the scholarship or not upon admission.

Also, the UCB Regents reward is considerably less than is that for UCLA; for instance, UCLA offers 5,500 a year for non-need recipients with an array of other perks (priority registration, parking privileges, etc), while UCB offers $1,000 for non-need, and an invite to a dinner with a few profs apparently.

Still though, I would attend UCB over UCLA even if I received Reagents at UCLA.

lol, EK are you a chemistry major? (look at your spelling of regents :P)

Can I ask: Why such a strong preference for UCB? And just out of curiosity are you from Norcal or Socal?

Ah ****, lol -didn't even notice I was doing that; I played a mage in WoW, that should explain it if you are on the in.

I am from CenCal, in SLO if you know where that is.

And I really cannot stand the LA area; the SoCal pseudo-culture is honestly repugnant to me. Moreover, I think Berkeley has a vast amount more to offer me in terms of academic options; largely due to the slightly higher prestige at UCB, and the PoliSci department's ranking. But, equally important is UCB's location in the bay area, and the proximity to other cultural facets.
