Regents/Chancellor's scholarships

Does anyone know how high your scores and grades to be in order to get a substantial amount of money from ucsd?

They've taken it down, but as early as several months ago the FAO website said UCSD Regents scholars have average SAT (M+V) of around 1550. And GPA averages are probably perfect or close to it.

Did they send out the notice for Regent already? If not, when do they usually do that?

Does the Scholar's Day invitation have anything to do with the Regent's, Scholarship?

bump bump...

Invites to Scholar's Day are in the mail. I think there may be a relation to Regent's; I'm not sure tho!

i got mine yesterday. does this have any link to admissions? i am OOS, so i was wondering if its worth making travel plans for.

Scholars Day invitations go out to the top 5% of applicants. Maybe someone else knows for sure, but I'm guessing as many as 1000 get the invitation. The University is trying to increase the yield from this high achieving group. There are tours, a nice lunch, a few presentations, and lots of people to answer your questions. It's an Open House just for the top candidates.

Undoubtedly nearly all Regents and Chancellors winners will come from this group but with only 100 Regent and (I'm guessing) 20 Chancellor Scholars awarded each year, the odds are tough.

See link below for UCLA's Regent program description. UCSD's might not be exactly the same, but would be very similar.

One more thing... in past years, UCSD--unlike Berkeley and UCLA-- has not held interviews for Regents contenders. No interview was required and the winners were notified along with the regular admissions notification. Probably the same this year.
