Regent's finalist

Son got an email today advising him that he will be offered admission by April 1, and that he is a candidate for the Regent's scholarship. To compete for the scholarship, he must submit an additional essay by Feb 27.

Does anyone know how many Regent's are offered? Total number? Percentage of candidates?

I got this email too, does this mean I've been accepted?

My son just got his, too. It does say clearly in his letter that he will be admitted when the letters go out in March.

What he's wondering is if there's an "admit weekend" or something like that for Santa Cruz?

so.... is that an "unofficial" acceptance? it says we are in the top 3.6%... do they really only give this letter to their to 3.6%???

My daughter got one too.

It says they will be offering her admission in mid-March. This is the first school she has heard from and it's really nice to finally know something!

Congrats to all.

I got the email as well, and a follow-up package in the mail today. I'd like to know what percentage of candidates actually receive the scholarship as well - UCSC isn't at the very top of my list, but I do like the school, and the aid money could really help a lot.

(Congratulations to everyone else!)

anybody having trouble with the regents essay topic? its soooo broad and sooo short!

Can you guys post stats?

I sent in the essay and haven't heard anything since. Did anyone get any confirmation or no?
