Regents hike cost of Georgia colleges

From AJC April 19th

Georgia students will see their college costs increase by 9 percent next fall, under new tuition and fee rates the state Board of Regents approved Tuesday.

Another great benefit for those with UA Presidential Scholarships and NMS.

Scholarships are great, but I don’t see that relates to this. The UA Board will probably raise tuition and costs as well. They’ve done so every year for the past several years.

If a student has a full tuition scholarship to Bama, then any increases won’t hurt the student.

And Georgia full-tuition scholarships don’t do the same? That’s my point.

Not a whole lot of “full scholarship” action going on in Georgia. NMF awards at Georgia Tech are minimal and also are partially based on need instead of merit. My daughter didn’t apply at any other Georgia schools so I can’t comment on what they do for NMF kids. Most kids rely on HOPE, which in the past has covered full tuition but has recently been reduced because of financial concerns.
