Does UCLA tell you whether you got Regents or not in your online decision? Or is it strictly by post? Do they tell you if you got rejected (knock on wood)? When do they post the notifications? .....am i asking too many questions?

I believe you get an email from a regents mentor around spring break that lets you know if you made it, but the actual letter did not come for me until around 2-3 weeks after my spring break last year.

is the award total at the bottom of the chart the amount they are giving us for sure? or are these just pending awards? Ahh! it says $15,000 for me for total awards.. and if they are REALLY giving me this much, it will have a big impact on my college decision.

Regents was something we were invited and then applied for a while ago. It's a 5500 dollar/year honorarium, regardless of need (i.e. merit-based), but if you are needy then I think they foot the rest of whatever tuition you qualify for.

ok I have a quick question...how do let fasfa know that you want to put UCLA as the school you're going to for consideration of scholarships and such?

klc - I thought of that, and I suppose I will. They're nuts as many asian parents are tho and they've got their heart set on the big shot ivies more than I have. No negotiation with them until april 1st, I'm thinking. Thanks for the care tho : ) : )

Question for those of you who can see the Regents Award letter through your ePAL: is there anyone who can see the letter but did not file a FAFSA? My son applied for the Regents but we did not qualify for need-based financial aid so no FAFSA was filed. He would only be eligible for merit aid. Thanks.
