Regents Scholarship Advantages?

<p>Hi, I recently earned the Regents scholarship for UC Berkeley.</p>

<p>However, I'm kind of confused as to what the actual benefits are to being a Regents scholar. If there are any Regent Scholars from Berkeley out there, your opinion would be greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>I'm aware of the $1,000 monetary award (more if you have financial aid).</p>

<p>I'm also aware that a Regent Scholars get a faculty sponsor that is a professor in his or her college to help make academic plans. However, I have friends that currently attend Berkeley that tell me that everyone gets a professor as such an advisor. Can anyone please clarify if there is a difference or does everyone get a faculty sponsor?</p>

<p>And if anyone can please describe any other advantages there are to being a UC Berkeley Regents Scholar, please do tell. Thanks</p>
