the point is i don't get the student id no, and thus i can't access the web site on 3-1-2006.

i made the request in the web site for the student id no. but until then no feedback.

what can i do ?

Wait for snail mail

waaait so not everyone gets the chp invite? i just got mine today

Most people who apply to UCI don't get CHP. The incoming freshmen class at UCI is about 4000 with about 150-60 of those being CHP students.

what about regent's scholarships? how many get those?

Anyone know the difference between Regent's and Chancellor's? It seems as though both of them are full.

I don't know how much things have changed recently, but as far as I know the Regents' Scholarship is a dollar amount that exceeds tuition and fees, and also gives you a $2500 stipend for three summers (starting the summer AFTER your first year) if you enroll in summer school. So you would actually get the excess money back to use for whatever you wanted (housing, books, computer, iPods, Ramen, t-shirts). For the Chancellor's, it covers tuition and fees but you don't get any extra money.

Both are a great deal, and I would be happy to have been offered either.

If you haven't been contacted for either, but got into the CHP and the university, can you still get some merit scholarships?

oh dang but chp has nothing to do with either chancellor or regents?

^^No. It just so happens that many CHP students also get Chancellors or Regents, although certainly not all of them.

is CHP and Regents something to be proud of?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I'm gunna go with yes.

Aww crap! I want Regent's now! Oh well, I'm happy with Chancellor's. By the way, I read somewhere that if you have money left over from your scholarship, you can get it back as a stipend? Is this true?

Keep in mind theres the possibility of financial aid too. I have a chancellors and I get other financial aid..so it's a pretty good deal for me.

Is the extra money from Regents received as a personal check or is it only useable for purchasing stuff from the university?

I just got my regents notice today.. uci was my safety school but i didn't think they'd give me the scholarship. For those conducting the survey of regents' average stats: sats were 2070, 780 math 2, 740 us hist. 4.4 uc gpa and in top 5% of my hs.

I got regents with lower gpa :)

GPA: 4.2 (UC)
SAT: 2180
SAT IIs: 760 and 790

Heres my regents stats:

4.25 uc gpa
SAT 2170
SAT II's 770 chem 730 math2

Im also curious how many are offered the regents scholarships?
