Regents scholarship help!

Where/how can I check the status of the Regents scholarship? The UCLA financial aid page says my ePal is not available!

I am in the same situation as you. I am a candidate for a Regents Scholarship and am stuck waiting... I think we will just have to wait a couple more weeks to find out if we get it or just get in. I don't think we will not get in to the school if we are being considered for the scholarship. What is weird is that I am being considered for a UCLA Regents Scholarship but I didn't receive any scholarships from SB or Davis. Every time I ask a question about the Regents Scholarship no one answers me, so maybe people hate us.

My stats:

3.99 GPA (my one A- was in Freshman Seminar... don't ask)
Political Science major.
IGETC completed.
Phi Theta Kappa, military veteran.

One more thing... what did you do for your DVD?

I already got in UCLA (today) and I also got Regents from UCD. I never applied for it and I didnt even know they also have Regents. Apparently UCD Regents doesnt need an application, they just give it to people.

Since I dont have any visual talents, I just talked about myself and how nice I am :)

you got in to UCLA but they didn't tell you whether or not you got the Regents? I wonder what the holdup is for me. I don't think I should be worried (about not getting in) but I can't help it. I have too much time to think up bad scenarios. Would you choose Davis Regents over UCLA regular? Or Berkeley regular over UCLA Regents?

I sat there in a suit talking about myself looking like an idiot... I HATE talking about myself.

lol at least u had a suit on, I was in khakis and a polo.
I dont know where I should look for Regents. I checked the admission website on my PDA while I was in class so I didnt read the whole thing and by the time I got out of class the website was closed for the day.
I dont know which one I should choose. $7500/year sounds very nice (UCLA Regents is $5500) any ideas?

If I don't get it I'll blame it on my suit.
It's a tuff decision! The Regents Scholarship is so prestigious it would be hard to turn it down. If you went to Davis as a Scholar over UCLA as a regular student, you would walk in with distinction. Also, I'm sure it would be a huge boost to an application for graduate school. You need to do some deep thinking. Go drink a few beers. As for me, I've always been in love with Berkeley, but it might be foolish to turn down a UCLA Regents Scholarship and guaranteed parking :)
I went to the Decision Davis presentation in LA a week ago and I was impressed. Davis' stock definately went up in my book.

Have any transfer students to UCLA received notification as to whether they were accepted or rejected for the UCLA Regents Scholarship?

SyncMaster, I'm STILL waiting. What did you do for your DVD?

I called last week and they told me that it will be mailed this week.

For my DVD, I wore a dress shirt without a tie, and sat there trying not to read my cue cards to often. I guess that I shoud have either memorized what I wanted to say or tried to have just winged it. Either way, my video had many splices in it to remove the portions where the camera could see my eyes reading the words of my script.

I have no idea what they were looking for, I wish they would have provided more instructions. However, I am satisfied with the video I sent to them; I just hope they feel the same.

Hey guys, I applied for the Regent's back in the day (got the shaft, however). If I recall, it takes a week or two for them to get back to you and decide if you're a yes or no. It's a pretty competitive scholarship, so cross all your fingers and toes, and hope that you're better than me!

Don't worry, if you get it, FAO (Fin Aid Office) will fix it up for you.

SyncMaster I was reading from notes too. I only ended up splicing it once, but the whole process was painful. The worst part was watching myself afterwards.

Wow, DVD...what did you guys have to do?
(As a freshmen applicant for regents, I just had to write a 250 word essay, haha. A very easy way to secure such a nice amount of money).

We had to submit a 4 minute DVD showcasing our uniqueness. I would have rather written a 1000 word essay. The video was horrible. Hopefully they destroy them once they reject us.

Total requirements:

official transcripts
2 letters of recs
DVD video

Wow...that's a new one. I never had to do that...

They are sending out notifications for UCLA Regents this week, according to the response I FINALLY received.

OChador, did you call them up today? Who did you contact, financial aid? I am so nervous about this scholarship...I have put so much work into it for the past 2 years!
