@Ohboycollege - I believe the limit is 20 credits after Freshman year. You can check with your Advisor
@Ohboycollege My one of my friends registered for 18 credits his freshman year and another one (though, he is an EXTREME case) registered for 22 credits (2nd semester). It depends on your college, who your advisor is, and what courses you’re going to try to overload your credit limit with. If you’re in engineering, it might be hard to try to convince your advisor to approve you for more than 17-18 credits (most engineering students take 17-18 credits and have to overload their credits). I believe that (at least in CMNS) the limit is 17 credits for EVERYBODY. After that, you’ll have to ask your academic advisor to approve you to take more credits.
I believe the credit limit for freshmen is only the first semester…? To be fair, I agree that the first semester should have lower credits until students acclimate to college. After that first semester, I think it’s the same credit limit for all students. Exceptions are made by application by departments- typically students with high gpa and/or double major are granted permission for credit “overload”
