This is my first time registering at UT Austin. I am a transfer student, and the system here seems a bit complicated.

I registered for three classes, and I have two classes on my waitlist. I paid my tuition in full, so I am set.

But- the classes I really need are the two on my waitlist. Because today was the drop day, a lot of classes opened up. But when I tried to register, the system won't let me because it is not in my "registration time slot" I really want to register for the open classes. Is there any way I can? Or once registration payment is in, thats it? Is there an option to add/drop classes after the payment deadline?

If you could please answer my question, that would be really great :) thanks

You can add a course up to the 12th class day. If the system won’t let you in, try going to the department and asking someone in a departmental office that handles registration (this is not always the chairman’s office). They can override registration windows to put you into an open class, and are sometimes willing to help.

If I paid for my tuition on time, and I add/drop a class during the first four days (suppose I don’t like the prof or the time) will I receive a full refund or do I get charged for changing?

If you’re a full-time student (i.e. taking 12+ hours), the price of tuition is flat. (at least that’s my understanding?) so in other words, it shouldn’t matter as far as money is concerned.
