i'm going to be a SEAS freshman, and i was just wondering if i could register for phys c1403 first semester before c1401. also what are the differences between dodd and hughes in terms of personality and their approach towards the phys 1400 series? i checked out culpa but i just wanted to know if some of you guys had any thoughts. thanks!

Well, I’m an incoming freshman like you (in CC, though), but from looking on the bulletin, I think we’re obligated to take 1401 first, as 1402 is listed as a prerequisite for 1403. If you have special circumstances/preparation, it couldn’t hurt, I suppose, to email someone in the science department, but otherwise, I think you’re stuck in 1401. As for professors, well, obviously I am of no help there! However, I would just like to say that culpa is the source of all light and heat in the universe, or at least the solar system. That is all.
