regret ED2

Hi everyone, my guidance, my parent and I signed my ED2 agreement before the Christmas break. I have not submit the application and want to change the school for ED2. Would I be able to do that? If so, would this change affect my acceptance by other colleges or the original ED2 school?

When you select school A for Early Decision 2, you;re entitled to attend that school if you’re accepted. You can only select one school (school A) for Early Decision 2.

One reason Early Decision 2 (deadline usually Jan 1) was made, was so that those that were rejected from Decision 1 (deadline usually early November) schools could apply to a school for ED2.

No, this will not affect your chances of school A under ED2. In fact, school A will strongly consider your application because you’re committed and school A is your first, top choice.

No, this will not affect your chances at other RD schools because they will not know. They don’t have to know.

Policies vary across colleges, but some schools allow you to convert an RD app to ED II as long as you have the RD app in by the RD deadline. For example, apply to RD Lehigh by Jan 1 but you have until Jan 15th to convert that RD app to ED II.

Since you have not submitted your ED II app, no harm done. Is this a Common App school? Did you file the CA agreement electronically? Do you still want to apply to this ED II school RD? I just am not sure how you can submit the RD app if you have already filed the ED agreement, but there must be a way since you have not filed yet.

You should check the ED II conversion deadlines, if they exist, for both your current ED II school and the new school you would like to apply to ED II.

I want to convert the EDII school to RD school, and choose another school for EDII. The deadlines for EDII & RD are the same. I have filed the CA agreement electronically. What can I do now? Would there be any harm if I change the EDII school?
