Ugh, I feel horrible.
I applied to Princeton early this year and I submitted what I thought was a good essay at the time. But now that I go back and reread it, it SUCKS! (Though my optional ones are alright). I just rewrote the entire essay for my regular decision schools, and now it's much better.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to be deferred now :( (actually I was expecting it before, but any chance I thought I had has flown out the window).
Anybody else regret stuff about their application?
Do you think I can send Pton a copy of my new essay, and ask them to read that one for RD rounds? lol.
Comfort me, everyone!!

My essays sucked too, except I applied to Stanford EA. I reread my long essay a couple of weeks ago and its totally dull; its fits exactly into the category of this affected me and made me a hard worker and a better person and my activity essay was so cliché. I just realized that I used the word determination four times, and the entire essay is only 250 words. Oh well, I wrote better short essays for Princeton (hopefully) and my common app one is ok, but I dont think itll get me accepted.

well i went back to read my essays and I thought they weren't as impressive as when I first sent them out--maybe it is common to be so critical because we're pessimistic and we've re-read it so many times

It's only natural to regret your early application. It's hard to expect somebody to "get it right" on their first-ever college application, regardless of how much time they have spent on it. Even the best of applicants notice small mistakes on their early apps after they have submitted them (sometimes even after they have gotten in!).

Maybe Im too much of a pessimist lol.

I regret some grammar mistakes on my Princeton Short takes :(

Other than that, nothing i can regret, had 5 proof readers for the essay and short answers just to see if they make sense :)
Didn't have that many corrections but yeah, if there's one I regret is that there's a few paintings in my portfolio that I would rather switch out but because not all the slides were developed before the deadline, i didn't have the chance :(

Yeah....
Firstly my app isn't very up-to-date anymore. There are a couple more little odds and ends I could have added and didn't.

don't even talk to me about essays. I was getting very poofy headed about my essays and I sent them in thinking they would MAKE my application.
Yeah...went back and read them.
Good lord, why was I ever allowed to think I could write?

I think if you rush a new essay, they might still give it a look? I dont know. E-mail the admissions offices. I sent all new essays for all the colleges I applied to in like February last year.

I'm sort of regretting that I didn't apply to Princeton ED instead of Yale EA. I LOVE Yale, but I think my EA chances are soooo slim, whereas if I had applied to Princeton ED I bet they would have been much stronger. :-/
