Regretting not applying EA to UMich

This senior year I was really hoping to get a GPA boost because it dropped 0.3 last year. I decided not to apply EA to Michigan because i felt like a grade improvement in senior year would boost my chances, especially since I want to do pre med. I am kind of worried now after seeing people from my school with similar stats apply early. (My UW GPA went from 3.7-3.4. Many reasons..moving to another state, starting IB, my mom's multiple sclerosis getting worse)

Hindsight is 20/20. The question is, what do you do with the lesson you just learned. Anyplace you’d like to apply EA that still has an open deadline? Then get to it.

There is little reason not to apply EA at UMich as they mostly defer whoever not accepted. Nevertheless, if you are pretty sure will be deferred, there is no disadvantage applying RD directly. The drop in GPA from the first quarter may not have much effect on your cumulative GPA anyway. A 0.3 drop in the first quarter GPA would only bring down the cumulative GPA by less than 0.03.

I guess I should have tried talking to admissions before making my decision. A Boston College rep suggested that I wait, so I generalized.
