regular class registration

for artsci freshmen who can't make it to an early-registration weekend, does anyone know if we run a real risk of not getting the classes we want (or need) to take? is it possible to not get into a class that you need to take (as in chem for pre-med bio majors), or does that get worked out somehow?

have you already gotten the info about all of the artsci weekends? i'm in both artsci and the school of engineering, and I only get engineering info...

i'm pretty sure classes fill first come first serve, so you probably won't have the greatest pick of classes, then again only about half the artsci freshmen go to a weekend so... I'm got to WashU in the fall and my brother just graduated - he never had any problem taking the classes he needed, so that said everything should work out in the end, you just might not get your classes when you really want them.

yep--we got packets with that info. about 3 weeks ago.

alright, thanks for that, just one more thing to worry about. did ur brother like wash u? i'm guessing he did if you're going :)

yeah he liked it, like you said i'm going there to so.... i'm trying to think if there's anything he's said that he didn't like, but nothing comes to mind right now, maybe just that to begin with everyone feels like they need to prove that they belong there, so some people can be pretty superficial, but you probably get that pretty much everywhere. my brother is always telling me little tid bits about washu, things to do, places to go, stuff like that, so if you have any other questions...

thanks Ellabell. Is there a cap on the amount of people that can come to one of the weekends?

they say max 125 at any given weekend.
