Regular Decision 2020

ACCEPTED!!! with 4.5 gpa, 1700 (1180 combined), hardly any ECs… I am in-state so I’m sure that played into consideration a good bit. I’m Asian + first generation as well…honestly, so honored to have my gpa validated despite a low SAT & no ECs.

I got in!! OOS with 3.96 and 35. I’m excited!! I was a little bitter before about scholarship stuff but I’m really grateful now!

Accepted D1 from NJ… Shocked!

was deferred ea, and waitlisted now

Hi. Just looking at these decisions because my child will apply next year. I am curious if some of you that are finding out today that you are ultimately waitlisted or denied, did you by chance originally apply EA? Also, for the students that have said their GPA are 3.9-4.0 unweighted, are you taking Honors and AP classes. There seems to be quite a difference between an unweighted 3.9-4.0 of a student who did not take rigorous classes (Honors/AP) and one who has an unweighted 3.9-4.0 and took many of the rigourous classes offered. Any thoughts?

I got in! (from NJ)

@hcmom65 I was denied and I didn’t apply EA. I took all AP and Honors classes, 3.9 uw/4.6 w GPA. 2100 on SAT, 2 varsity sports, president of two clubs, yearbook editor, and team captain for track. I’ve won awards nationally for yearbook and other ECs. I’m OOS, which is probably why I didn’t get in. There’s really no way of knowing… UVA is my first rejection-- for context, I’ve been admitted to the US Naval Academy, American University, UF, and VT.

Taking high level classes is definitely needed for a strong application, but it doesn’t always guarantee admission. Best of luck to your child next year!

D accepted OOS 4.0 GPA unweighted, 6 APs this year and many priors. 2240 SAT, 5s on all AP exams 800 Engilsh and 800 USH subject tests. Many clubs, varsity captain lacrosse. Very excited for her!

I was deferred from the EA applicant pool. However, I was fortunate enough to get accepted this time!

@GraylyElephant Same! congrats!

Does anyone know how to view financial aid?

I got in! From NYC
