I was also admitted and picked to go to France. I was surprised through because I got waitlisted at Bates… Isn’t Colby usually more selective than Bates?

Appleton1!
That’s awesome!! What’s your major? Curious as to why you were chosen to go to Dijon.

Greetings, everyone, and thanks for all the great questions!

The applicant pool at Colby this year was very competitive - we received a record number of applications, took almost half our class during the early decision rounds, and finished with an acceptance rate for the Class of 2016 of just under 29%. We were extremely impressed with the overall academic strength and amazing personal qualities of the students who applied to Colby this year, and we wish all of you whom we were unable to offer admission the very best.

Regarding the wait list, it is not ranked. If you’d like to remain active on this list, please refer to the information mailed with your decision about how to communicate that with our office. And of course for those of you who were accepted, congratulations! We hope to see you at one of our upcoming accepted student events this spring!

And to all ED accepted students, you should be receiving your finalized financial aid information in the next month or two. Please be in touch with our office directly if you have any specific questions or concerns.

Best,

Colby Admissions

Colby Admissions - I am a parent of an ED accepted student. So happy!! Two questions: 1. when should we be receiving additional information from Colby, i.e. forms to fill out, general paperwork, etc.? and 2. can the ED accepted students attend one of the Accepted Student Day events? If so, will they have something sent to them about it? Thanks so much for your assistance plus I think it’s great that you monitor the Colby CC site and provide answers to questions. Looking forward to 4 years in Maine!

konathedog - Congratulations to your son/daughter! Accepted ED students will receive additional paperwork from the College - roommate forms, COOT information, etc. - along with regularly enrolled students in the coming months. ED students are of course welcome to visit one of our admitted student events - you may register for an open house, and/or a regional off-campus yield reception, through the myColby portal.
