^I would guess email decisions are based on mailing address not birth land. :)

So.. I'd be on the look out for a letter.

All decisions are by mail, even international (which is mailing address not in the US). No decisions are ever emailed. If an international applicant lives somewhere particularly rural or where mail delivery is infrequent, it MAY be shipped by some other method than regular mail. If you don't receive it within a reasonable time frame (which depends entirely on your location), you can call to see if it's possible to get it over the phone, but for the sanity of all of the AO's, only call if it's clear that something has happened to the letter en route - like say if you normally get things from Colgate 5 days after they mail them and it's been 15 days.

I'm pumped to hear from Colgate :P. It's the best college I applied to...sooo curious if I was made of the right stuff to get in. C'mon April 1st...

So if they send all of the decisions by mail, I really hope they send earlier the ones for international addresses because, for example, US mail takes plenty of time to get to me.

One of my friends received a letter [rejection :( ] from Colgate. This means international mail was sent earlier than stated in that message. Now I am eager to receive my letter too.

Blanche2negru- where is your friend from?

My friend is from Romania also - Gaesti is the name of the town. Gaesti is pretty close to Targoviste, my town. However, I didn't receive by now any letter :( (it's already past 6 PM, so it's unlikely I will get it today)

So I just received a letter from Colgate today.

Thin letter - waitlisted...

Hopefully you will all receive the thick letter. Beware of the thin white letter and good luck to all!

iskander... where do you live? i live in nj so im thinking 2 or 3 days for my letter to arrive...

Nervous (nice screen name, fits the moment haha) - I reside in France. And the letter was dated the 25th of march but it got here the today (the 24th).

Your letter got to France already? Maybe they just mailed internationals so that all applicants will receive about the same time?

And Iskander: you have to remember.. waitlisted is NOT rejected. On the parents board there has been a lot of discussion that schools are really going to utilize their waitlists this year because of the unsure economy. Schools don't want to mess up thier yield too badly and too, you don't want to offer more admits if you'd end up with overcrowding if your yield remained unchanged from last year.

Sorry, iskander, that you're waitlisted. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Ou c'est que tu habites?

Modadunn - Yes I just received the letter. I'm guessing your thought is accurate. I also applied to Georgetown and the school is emailing internationals its decisions so that everyone gets their decision at the same time.
Thank you for your message. I am actually quite the optimist, most probably because I was admitted to one of my top choices earlier this month. I understand the tuff situation colleges are currently in and I do not blame them. I even think that 4 months for several thousands applications isn't close to enough for building a class. Even so, at the end of the day, the way I like to see it is if I don't get into the school well then maybe (just maybe) it isn't meant to be.
Are you also a HS senior?

SwissMiss. - No worries and thank you.

Wow. I must say I'm quite impressed for seeing French on CC. J'habite tout pres de Paris, dans un petit village. Et vous? Texas, je vois. Je suppose Houston?

iskander - I'm sorry that you were wait-listed but congrats on being accepted to one of your top choices. I will also keep my fingers crossed for you as well. Qu'est-ce que vous voudriez etudier? (lol sorry, couldn't resist not writing in french)

^^ Thanks PKW.
J'aimerais

Bonnes chances partout! :)

Don't read French, and don't speak it. But I will say it is probably one of the prettiest looking and sounding languages out there!

Iskander.. I'm a parent, not a student. Son is the senior of the family. He's not talking to me and yet expects me to kind of have answers when he decides to inquire. So I obsess here! :-) And now that I've seen so many posters over the course of this process, I am eager to know where they get in and hoping for the best for all. It is such an ambiguous process and yet seems so personal too. Congrats on your acceptance (Son hasn't heard bupkiss from any schools yet), but he too applied to GTown. I think it's going to be a rough up and down next couple of days!!

MissSwiss: Oula... Je sais comment tu fais a vivre dans cet endroit. C'est pas tr

omg! u got into USC?? congrats.. how is the aid package?? that awesome.. omg..
