My acceptance letter arrived today. A bit bittersweet. I got in and got into the PPL program, but with only a $15k scholarship the price still makes it a non-option.

Ah well, fingers crossed for a full scholarship from GW so I can go to DC, but this seems unlikely since is even more competitive than American.

Darthelnet - Three years ago my daughter got $20,000 merit from American and $10,000 from GW. However, on CC I saw that there were plenty of people with lower stats getting more money than her from GW. I think - and this is my guess - that it may be the major your declared at GW that can make a difference. Also, all the people who got more money than her were males. It could be that schools are trying to close the gender gap a little and are trying to get more males enrolled. Donāt want this to sound sexist or anything but William and Mary are honest about it.

NewJersyMom - you may well be right. so many of these colleges have dramatic lower number of boys. I have one of each, so I can speak freely. Nothing in the U.S. mail in California for us, and no change on the portal, where we were able to get to the ānewerā site, but thatās about it, no āenrollment tab,ā nothing useful under housing tabs, other places where āsomeā people were able to see things. Since the physical letters did not go out until Tuesday due to D.C. weather, it will be Friday or Saturday for us.

Yey! Just got my acceptance letter today with admission to the Public Health Scholars Program and $10,000 annually in scholarship. they personalized my acceptance letter which was cute:) unfortunately it is still far too expensive:( idkā¦waiting to hear from GW i guess. i also cant find my major anywhere? in the packet

Hi! I was accepted today with a $10,000 Champions of Excellence scholarship and I was invited to the āAmerican University Scholars Program,ā but I donāt know what it is and I can find any information on itā¦ Is someone familiar with this program? Thanks!

I just got accepted with a $15,000 scholarship and the Scholars Program. The housing trick told me that I did not get in, and I was devastated. So, letting you guys know that the housing trick is not always true! Good luck everyone!

@iddy09 I called American University and the representative said that the Scholars Program is a first year program which focuses on research and co-curricular activities in DC. You will get to work closely with faculty and live with other scholars. Hope this helps.
