<p>haha yea its another chances thread, it'd be great if people could respond, i would love to go to nyu</p>

<p>Out of State (extremely competitive public school in Jersey)
SAT I: 1330 (700m, 630v...yea not so good, ok so im not that great of a test taker)
SAT II: 710 2c, 710 writing, 760 chem, 690 chinese
AP: 5 on chem, taking english lit/envi sci/calc ab tests this year
Weighted gpa: 3.884 is my cumulative gpa on my midyears
My gpa has had a huge increase (3.332 to 4.001 to 4.096) from freshmen to soph and junior years (only b/c i was a slacker in 9th grade, haha) I have a 4.475 senior year gpa after the 1st semester. Took 2 AP's junior year (english 3, chem) and taking 3 ap's this year (english 4, environmental science, calc ab). *note, admission into ap classes is by recommendation only, you can't just take them if you want.
Also took 4 honors soph year (chem, chinese 3, algebra 2, accounting 1), 3 honors junior year (physics, chinese 4, precalc), and taking 1 honors class this year (accounting 2).
Rank: school does not rank but im in the 2nd decile; around top 15% (class of ~360)

<p>Thanks for reading guys and/or gals!</p>

<p>Your SATs could hurt you. Stern is really pushing for 1400+ to boost its rankings. However, your ECs look very good, especially a devoted interest to business. Plus, being Asian and from Jersey helps IMO (as that's a good % of Sternies). I'd say you have a good chance, but not a sure thing, depending on how strict they want to go with SATs this year.</p>

<p>"Plus, being Asian and from Jersey helps IMO (as that's a good % of Sternies). "</p>

<p>HAHA, if anything I would say this hurts in the admissions process, being a Jersey Asian is not doing anything for Stern's diversity.</p>

<p>I agree plus Stern is a lot better than Mich Ross ugrad in terms of SAT/gpa.
The USNEWS rank is worthless.</p>

<p>well nyusternman, you cant really compare ross and stern in terms of SAT and gpa b/c ross school of business doesn't take SAT scores or high school gpa b/c its a upper level school. They take kids after their soph year. btw, i also got into umich. </p>

<p>and as for being asian, yea i agree that won't help me at all. most kids who apply/go to stern are either caucasian or asian. </p>

<p>anybody else with chances?</p>

<p>bumpity bump</p>

<p>i think i suck at life.
now i'm gonna go to bed depressed at how i'm just like everyone else</p>
