Regular Decision Chances?

Hey guys! I'm looking to apply to UChicago for RD, and I've nearly got everything in my application done (supplement wise, I've been done with Common App for a while), and out of a vague sense of morbid curiosity, was wondering whether or not I have a decent shot at admission. A few friends at school have said I would, but I think you guys would be far more impartial. Thanks so much, and away we go!

My teacher and counselor recs are fairly good I believe, and I ended up doing the Find "x" prompt from last year, and I had a lot of fun with the essay (though it's ~750 words, I'm trying to shorten it up). My common app essay is a little off-beat, but I like it, and think it could quite work, and helps explain why I've moved from doing nearly all running my freshman year to becoming quite the band geek by my Senior year.

So anyway, I thank you for reading until the end, and if you applied EA, best of luck in the coming weeks, and if you're going RD, then best of luck in March!

Was “Find x” one of the prompts this year? I don’t remember it, but I could’ve just skipped over it I suppose.

You have a chance.

They typically discourage people from writing on a previous year’s topic…

You surely have a chance. Just make your essays perfect :)

I emailed them, and they said that would be fine, it was also asked in ViewChicago, the tumblr, and in the ask a counselor thread here, all of them indicated that they have no problem with it
