I am applying to Lehigh for engineering. I got a 31 on the ACT, have a 4.0 unweighted gpa, have taken mostly Honors and AP level classes, good recommendations, pretty good essays, and pretty good extracurriculars. However, I have not taken an official visit to the school and have not taken any SAT subject tests. Do you think I will get in?

I think that showing interest is a huge deal to Lehigh.

They don’t want to be accepting kids who won’t commit. So, if you live reasonably close you should start visiting.

My ACTs were much lower than yours and I didn’t take any subject tests, but I visited several times. I think that’s how I got in. So visit!

Visit! If you don’t visit, honestly, you most likely won’t get in. Colleges want the highest percentage of people accepting their offer of acceptance, so when they see you never visited they automatically assume it’s a backup.

What little information you provided about your stats seem fine, though. But still, you should without a doubt visit.

Will it still show up on my application that I visited even if I visit after my application has been submitted? I was planning on visiting after hearing a decision from them but after hearing this I am going to try and visit soon. Thanks for the help!

Yes they keep track of all interest. Email your admissions director, too. But when you go on the tour, sign in so there’s a record of your going. They’ll definitely take notice. After, email to thank them just to be sure.

Okay thanks a lot for the advice!
