Regular Decision Chances?

I really regret no going SCEA to Yale because I wanted to apply EA to other schools for their honors programs since Yale is an obvious reach:

Intended Major: Chemical Engineering

SAT: 2260
Math: 730
CR: 780
Writing: 750

SAT 2:
Chemistry - 800
Math 2 - 800

AP Classes:
Chemistry (A-)
Psychology (A+)
Calculus BC (A)
Art History (A)
Physics C (A)
English Lit and Lang (B+)

Other Classes:
Engineering Design
Architectural Design
CAD 1 and 2
Real World Engineering

GPA:
4.5 Weighted
(unweighted is a 3.9, but that’s just a guess… AP English is my only B ever)

Recommendations:
I’m assuming good

Extracurricular (done for all 4 years unless otherwise stated):
Relay for Life - 1 year on committee and 1 year president
SADD - 1 year secretary and 1 year president
Set Designer and Builder for Spring Musical - leader all 4 years
Engineering Club - member
Chemistry Club - member
Orientation Leader - 2 years (only allowed to do it for 2 years)
National Honors Society - 2 years (Juniors and Seniors are only allowed to join)

My cousins got his Master’s at Yale - I don’t know if that means anything

Thank you!

Everything seems pretty average for a yale candidate. Also I would say your ECs are a bit low. Your major doesn’t really pop out from your extra circulars. Do you have any hooks?

When a teenager applying to college makes that kind of statement it demonstrates a total lack of understanding of what colleges are looking for from EC’s. @HarvardDream101: As you have Harvard in your user name, maybe you should read how Harvard looks at EC’s: http://thechoice.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/09/14/harvarddean-part3/

OP, your EC’s are absolutely fine.

As Yale receives more applications from qualified students than they have room for in their class, Admissions uses a student’s teacher recommendations, guidance counselor’s Secondary School Report (SSR), essays, and interview report to choose one high performing student over another. As you haven’t posted any of those items (nor should you), the most anyone can say is that you are a qualified applicant – but so are most student’s who will ultimately be rejected. You’re new here, so possibly you haven’t read this thread; It’s written by an MIT Admissions Director, but everything in it holds true for Yale as well. GL to you in the Admissions process: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/massachusetts-institute-technology/939227-reminder-no-one-not-even-me-can-give-you-an-accurate-chance-at-mit-p1.html

Well it seems I am very misinformed about the topic. I apologize for that, and I am deeply sorry if I caused OP any anxiety. I always thought that ECs were your real resume and your stats were just a ticket in the admission board. Thank you @gibby for clearing that up.
