A thread for admission decisions for the class of 2021 since I saw that no one else started one…
when are they coming out?
USF Admissions tweeted that decisions will start coming out next week. Good luck!
I can’t seem to locate this tweet… would you mind sending the link to it?
@log2060, I apologize…it was a comment they posted on the USF Admissions Instagram account. I tried linking but it’s not working for me. Look for the photo they posted a day ago with two women walking…
Hey Guys! Glad you got this forum started. Excited and scared for the decision. Where are you guys applying?
^^ I meant to which majors lol
D applied to CAS. Plans to major in biology.
Really excited to hear back. Is it only by mail?
They send acceptances by both snail mail and email. In the past the snail mail has gone out first and the emails follow a few days later.
Have any of you visited USF? It is the only school we have not been able to visit yet. If D gets accepted, we are planing to visit, but I’d love to hear any feedback from any of you who have visited. We are in Wisconsin, so it’s a long haul for us!
@NolaCAR: USF’s campus is pretty compact, located in a mostly residential neighborhood about equal distance from downtown and the ocean. (About 20 minutes by bus, free to students.) The Lone Mt. portion of campus is separated from the main campus by a block of (nice!) homes. Weather is cool and sometimes foggy. Food on campus tends to be rated from meh to pretty good. Housing is not luxurious but many of the dorm rooms have million dollar views.
You can tell you’re at a Jesuit school when walking around (big church, a statue here and there). But in general it plays out as social justice more than anything else, and my S (an agnostic/atheist) feels completely at home there.
My S absolutely loves his professors. This semester his classes range in size from about 14 to 30. The academic support he receives is incredible.
USF is not a “party school”, although of course there are parties at all schools. Greek life is a very, very minor part of the experience here. Most kids tend to take advantage of what SF has to offer rather than restricting themselves to on-campus life.
I’m happy to answer any specific questions you might have.
