I wanted to start this thread for everyone applying RD to BU so you can compare stats and ECs, and for you to be able to communicate with other applicants. I am applying RD also and I will be posting my stuff later

Im excited about BU for its academics, great location (I want to be in or near a city), and great internship and study abroad programs.
Thanks and hope to attend!
I would also be happy to talk about supplement essay ideas.

Looks really strong @tiimmyturner . You should be good to go with those test scores.
Did you apply for the honors college or for the Trustee Scholarship @tiimmyturner ? Anyone?
I applied for Trustee
3.66 UW/4.07 W
1400 SAT (690R/710M)
Does anyone know when decisions were released last year?
Nevermind. I answered my own question. Looks like it was 3/18 last year.
My D’s mini stats are 3.8 uw, 5.0 w. 1500 SAT (730 e, 770 m). She took SAT IIs but didn’t submit them because not necessary. 6 APS total - AP Chem 4, AP Environmental Science 4, AP Biology 5. Now taking AP Calc, AP Psych, AP Physics C, Honors O Chem, Honors European Literature, and Honors Anatomy and Physiology. Took at least 10 Honors classes throughout high school.
She did apply for the honors college and for the Trustee Scholarship. Her Our Records message changed about 2-3 weeks after she applied to the Thank You one. She’s Sargent College, Human Physiology.
I think she’d do very well at BU, and she really likes how Sargent is structured. She’s got some nice experiences that help her biology /medical interests as far as fit. We do have demonstrated need, though, and we’d need a strong financial aid package to help make BU happen. We know they aren’t known for generous packages, but she likes the school enough to give it her best shot by applying for honors and Trustee.
If i have an ACT if 31 and SAT(new) of 1390 is it still possible for me to be accepted of is it a total reach?
@meimei29 High match to low reach. Then there is the rest of your stats to consider. If you choose the CGS option BU would be a low match.
@TomSrOfBoston I chose psychology does it make a difference?
@meimei29 CGS is an option for students who may not be admitted to their initial program.
I applied to BU RD, pretty nervous about the decision, here are my stats:
School provided UW GPA (they do and A is a 4 B is a 3): 3.25 weighted (ex:94 would be a 4.7, if advanced credit 5.4):4.25
I do have an extreme upward trend
GPA counting A- B+ etc. W:3.7 UW: 3.36
Sat: 1390 single sitting 1440 superscore (720 both)
ACT: 31 single sitting 33 superscore
Essays 8/10, explained circumstances for extreme upward trend (junior year gpa was 3.85 uw 4.42 w)
3 letter of rec, English teacher, history teacher, and counselor (all liked me a lot)
Ecs: cross country 2 years, nhs 2 years, senior year: debate (won 2 tournaments since I submitted idk how to show that), model un, deca (made it to state recently, idk how to send that, hoping for nats qual)
First generation
White (middle eastern)
Write and read Arabic
Dual citizen (don’t know if it matters, showed up on a couple freshman profiles for colleges)
From what I have seen in the letter they’ve sent and research about the university BU sounds like the school that would match my interests the best bit I have no idea how I stand for admissions
Applied to questrom school of business and checked CGS

My college essay was about how I used my Type One Diabetes to evolve my art and how my art influenced my Diabetes
My supplement was about how me and my BFF traveled on Amtrak to visit BU( by the time we got there it was 7-8PM, whoops), got lost in the middle of the rain/snow storm, which led insanity, wet shoes, and a realization. I was unsure about BU but by getting lost in our adventures, I found BU magical. (atmosphere was vibrant, academic talks between students and professors, etc.) I also talked about BU’s science programs and medical alumni.
I applied to the honors college, and to be honest, got really deep and metaphorical with my essay. I feel like I wrote my essay really well! :))
ExtraCurr: Diabetes talks with middle schools in the Westchester area,co-president of this club— Science Olympiad 2nd place microbiology winner (I thought microbio myself, never took a class)— Took care of Autistic younger sister
First generation student!
I’m in my gap year tutoring freshman students on microbiology for science Olympiad( wrote about how one of my students almost set me on fire to start off my essay on my experiences, good fun story to to tell )
Gonna get rejected :)>-
I was looking around the ED I and II discussion threads and they mention how their messages on their portal are either “Our records” or “Thank you” and that those who had “Thank you” got accepted and those who had “Our records” were deferred/denied. Do you think its the same for RD candidates? Because right now mine says “Our records” and I applied Dec. 1st. I really it’s only for ED applicants and if its not, that my message changes soon…
